He rocks in the treetops all the day long
Hoppin and a-boppin and a-singing this song
Every little bird, every little bee
Loves to hear the robin go tweet-tweet-tweet

Rockin robin, tweet, twiddley dee
Rockin robin, tweet, twiddley dee
Yeah go rockin robin, really gonna rock tonight

Every little swallow, every chick-a-dee
Every little bird in the old oak tree
Wise old owl, big black crow
Put out their wings singing go bird go

Rockin robin, tweet, twiddley dee
Rockin robin, tweet, twiddley dee
Yeah go rockin robin, really gonna rock tonight

The chief bird standing at the birdbath stand
Taught him how to do the bop and it was grand
Start goin steady and bless my soul,
He out-bopped the buzzard and the oriole

He rocks in the treetops all the day long
Hoppin and a-boppin and a-singing this song
Every little bird, every little bee
Loves to hear the robin go tweet-tweet-tweet

Rockin robin, tweet, twiddley dee

Le Tigre

Deceptacon

Every day and night
Every day and night
Yr so policy free and yr fantasy wheels and everything you think
And everything you feel is alright,
It’s alright, it’s alright, it’s alright, it’s alright
Who does your/ who does your hair?

Who took the Bomp from the Bompalompalomp?
Who took the Ram from the Ramalamading dong?
Who took the Bomp from the Bompalompalomp?
Who took the Ram from the Ramalamading dong?

You bought a new van the first year of yr band
Yr cool and I hardly wanna say “not”
Walk on it, walk on it, walking one, two
Who? Who? Who? Who?

Who took the Bomp from the Bompalompalomp?
Who took the Ram from the Ramalamading dong?
Who took the Bomp from the Bompalompalomp?
Who took the Ram from the Ramalamading dong?

My cousin paints and we went to the museum. Worth a good visit, and a good Asian art collection if you like that sort of thing.

Metrication in the USA

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

I love this stuff… some day we may all be using the same system. I think it could still happen here, one of only three non-metric countries in the world.

Metric Units poster – print it out

You can further research the state of affairs (i.e. dead, no action) at that site or also here:
METRICATION, History of

I particularly like the special unit for Saki bottle.
If Japan can convert, we can as well. It took 30 years for Ireland to fully convert. A number of American cars are using metric already.

Skater update

Saturday, March 1st, 2008

Meanwhile, my friend is still writing an interesting book about early skateboard culture and history. His book’s perspective is rich with both his Floridian childhood memories and historical research.  As a kid, he and his posse skated with his young buddy, the “inventor” of the skateboard trick called the “Ollie”. It’s mostly a history book about the early skater culture His book will also include a number of exclusive interviews and original photographs by himself and others.

One interesting fact: the nation’s  first skateboard park was actually built in Florida, not California. My friend’s book will also contend that the original skater culture wasn’t about bling or hooliganism. It was a gentle alternative to otherwise more aggressive sports and as much about money$ as it is today.

Anyway, I looking forward to it, but he still is interviewing more people as additional facts come to light. Sounds great, but hurry up already…
